Aparna V S is the lead speech language pathologist with a decade of experience in treating speech disorders in our children. Her passion and zeal in helping individuals with cleft reach their optimum potential by communicating efficiently has positively influenced thousands of families over the years. She is alumni of prestigious All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore. She started her career as cleft speech pathologist in 2013 at smiletrain unit. Her continuing effort in staying updated with latest research in cleft speech resulted in several presentations and publications. She also did her Ph D in speech language pathology on the topic of speech outcome measurements in CLP. She was instrumental in setting up one of the best VPD clinic in the country which is equipped with the high-end diagnostic evaluations including MRI. She has been training many SLP’s, interns and an active part of smile train SLP training programs. As passionate clinician cum researcher Aparna tries to bring in best possible evidence-based practices for assessment and treatment in our unit. Beyond clinical work Aparna values building relationship with children and family coming to her and guiding them through their journey of complete cleft care at our center.
